What are the festival ticket options?
Tickets available for purchase online include:
- Full Festival (NYE, Recovery and Camping from 27th)
- Two Party Pass (NYE Party and Recovery Party)
- NYE Party only
- Recovery Party only
- Camping (sold separately, tickets based on the date of arrival)
Party tickets do not include camping. Camping tickets do not grant access to the parties.
Member discounts available on party tickets (current financial members of Tropical Fruits only). Discounts only apply to Member's own ticket.
How do I book camping?
Camping can be booked alongside your party tickets.
To secure your spot simply purchase a camping ticket for each person wishing to camp. Due to demand and capacity limitations all camping must be pre-booked online before arrival, with camping likely to book out before the festival begins.
Can I book camping without booking a party ticket?
No. Camping can only be booked by those who have purchased Party tickets (or registered as a volunteer). Any bookings found to not have a matching party ticket or volunteer registration may be cancelled and refunded at the discretion of the committee.
Do the party and camping bookings need to be under the same name?
Yes. This enables us to easily search and cross-reference your bookings, ensuring a smoother check in and fewer headaches for our volunteers.
Can I change the name on my ticket?
Yes, you can change the names on your ticket via Humanitix.
- Find the order confirmation email you have received;
- Click the Edit order button;
- Update your order details such as providing your dietary requirements;
- To save the changes, click Save at the bottom.
Yes. All volunteers wishing to camp are required to book their free tickets and camping (per entitlement). Volunteers will be sent instructions on how to book these when their shifts are confirmed.
Can I pre-book a powered or specific camping site?
No. Due to the free layout of camping at Tropical Fruits all sites are available on a first-in basis upon arrival. Particular sites can not be pre-booked or reserved.
Can I only book online?
If you are unable to book online, you can contact the Tropical Fruits office directly.
Can I get a refund?
Short answer is no. However you can if apply in writing to TF committee in January explaining that you were no longer able to attend the event due to extenuating circumstances. Refunds will be accepted on a per case basis.
When can I collect my party armbands?
Box Office Hours:

Showgrounds Box Office is located next to the main party entrance.
Each patron must present their ticket and valid photo ID (and proof of concession/membership as required) to collect their armband. No group collections.
NO ID = NO ENTRY.

Can I BYO to the party?
No. New Years Eve and Recovery parties are fully licensed events with bar service available.
What items are not allowed into the party site?
Alcohol, illicit drugs, glass, chairs, umbrellas, hard eskies, professional camera equipment (unless authorised), animals (except service animals) or any item deemed dangerous or illegal.
Is there an ATM on site?
Yes, an ATM is located next to the front gate. EFTPOS is available at the Box Office and bar.
What medical assistance is available?
NYE and Recovery will have a fully staffed Medical Area, NSW Ambulance onsite and the ACON Rovers present all working to keep party goers safe. There will also be both volunteer and/or professional First Aid support throughout camping.

Campsite access before 1pm on December 27th is only available to volunteers with a shift that day.
Once checked in, campers are free to come and go from the campsite as they wish. You are free to depart at any time before the campsite closes.
How are campsites allocated?
Unlike most other festivals, the Tropical Fruits campsite operates as a free layout on a first-in basis upon arrival. There are 3 camping zones - tent only, van only and mixed. You are free to set up camp where you wish in the appropriate area (with the exception of marked clearways or no camping areas). All cars are parked in a separate parking area.
Our check in volunteers can help show you where when you arrive.
Are powered sites available?
Power outlets are available tin the van and mixed camping areas and are for the use of campervans only. Outlets are available to purchase alongside your tickets. Some power outlets will be reserved for people with accessibility requirements, please get in touch with us if this applies to you.
I’m arriving New Years Eve - will there still be room for me?
Yes. Our campsite is spacious enough to fit all of our campers who have pre-booked. If arriving late on NYE however, your options may become limited, particularly if you require a large space or power.
Can I bring a caravan/campervan/camper trailer?
Yes. However water/sewage access points or chemical toilet disposal facilities are not available - please use the bathroom facilities provided. If you wish to come and go from the campsite in your campervan, for safety reasons you must camp in the van only zone.
Can I sleep in my car?
No. Only campervans are permitted to remain within the camping zone.
Can I park next to my tent?
Tents and cars are a dangerous mix! All cars must be parked in the camping car park just a short walk away near Camp Check In. 5 minute drop offs are allowed within the campsite but strictly no parking (campervans and accessible parking permits excepted).
Can I reserve a campsite for my friends arriving later?
No. Campsites can not be held or reserved.
Is there a ‘Glamping’ option?
Tropical Fruits do not offer any pre-booked tents or ‘glamping’. If you choose to arrange a tent/van via a 3rd party provider, please note: no tents in the central ring area and all locations subject to approval by Tropical Fruits on the day.
Access for setup is possible from 1pm December 27th, with a valid camping ticket required from the day of setup.
Can I bring a pool?
Portable and inflatable pools can be a great way to cool down in the Lismore heat, however they pose a safety risk to you and your fellow campers, are an extra use of water and create more waste if thrown out when you depart. We encourage campers to reconsider the need to bring a pool. If you do, please be aware:
- 1 small pool per campsite permitted (max 70cm high and 250cm sq)
- $50 levy charged per pool (proceeds to Tropical Fruits Landcare initiatives)
- You are responsible for the safety of users at all times and removal of the pool
Is the campsite BYO?
Yes. Campers are free to bring a reasonable amount of alcohol into the campsite. However please no glass bottles - bring cans instead. Ice is available from Camp Hub.
Will there be food available on site?
A range of local vendors will be on site to keep you fed and caffeinated.
What facilities are available in the campsite?
Toilets, plenty of hot showers, outdoor cold showers for those with an exhibitionist streak, a communal kitchen with basic cooking facilities,
What is there to do in the campsite before the main parties?
Campers are free to head out and explore our wonderful ‘Rainbow Region’ with day trips possible to Nimbin, waterfalls, swimming holes, the famous Kings Beach and more.

The ever popular and exclusive Camp Party takes place 30 December and is the perfect warm up for the New Year festivities ahead!
Can my friends visit the campsite?
Day passes are available for your non camping friends to visit and join in the Fruity fun of the campsite and provide access until sundown. Strictly camper only access to the campsite 30 December.
What if I arrive after check in has closed?
If you arrive late please follow the directions of security staff on the gate. Check In restrictions may apply for late arrivals.
How far is it to the Lismore CBD?
The campsite is a 5 min drive or 20 min walk from the Lismore CBD. A taxi drop off/pick up zone is located at the front gate on Alexandra Parade.
Shuttle buses will operate January 1st between the Showgrounds and Lismore CBD
What items are not allowed in camping?
Open fires (inc fireworks, flares etc), glass bottles (750ml bottles exempt), large pools (over 70cm high and 250cm square), illicit drugs and any other items considered illegal or dangerous.
Can I bring my furry friend?
While man-bears are more than welcome, unfortunately no animals are permitted on site with the exception of registered assistance animals. If you need a kennel or pet friendly accommodation check out this list of local businesses.
What is Campest Camp?
Each year our campers compete to create the most wonderous camping setup with lights, decorations and plenty of Fruity creativity. A special prize is awarded to the Campest Camp, judged during the Camp Party. Bonus points are awarded for matching the festival theme and being eco conscious - think solar lights and recycled materials.
Is the party site wheelchair accessible?
All of the main party venues are wheelchair accessible, with paved pathways connecting all venues with a few sections of minor slopes or inclines. Accessible bathroom facilities available. Please give us a call to answer more specific questions about accessibility 02 66226440.
Is the campsite wheelchair accessible?
Much of the campsite is wheelchair accessible, with paved, grass or dirt pathways connecting most areas. Certain areas may be sloped or uneven and may present some challenges for wheelchair access. Accessible bathroom facilities available.
Is there accessible parking?
Accessible car parking is available for camping and party attendees. Campers can ask for an accessible permit upon arrival and Camp Check In. Accessible parking for party attendees is via the front gate.
What if I need access to power in camping for medical reasons?
We have reserved some power for people with medical and accessibility needs. You can identify your requirements at checkout when you purchase tickets.

Will there be Auslan Interpreters?
